World Animal Net is pleased to highlight the work of coalitions, federations, and other collaborative projects around the world. This gives the organizations an opportunity to tell the animal protection community about their work for animals, and gives the animal protection community the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others.

In today’s blog, we highlight the work of Faunalytics, a non-profit research organization dedicated to helping animals by providing useful information to advocates to help them increase their impact. You may know them by their former name: “The Humane Research Council.” Che Green, their Executive Director, has kindly shared this information about their important work with WAN and our contacts.

Advocacy Spotlight: One More Generation (OMG)

Written by

Recently, World Animal Net was honored to meet Jim Ries, President of One More Generation (OMG). OMG is a unique organization in that it was founded by two kids, Carter and Olivia Ries, who care deeply about animals and the environment that they (and we) rely on for survival. Carter and Olivia are passionate about empowering their peers to realize that their actions can in fact have a profoundly positive impact on the world around them. The work of this organization has inspired us at World Animal Net, and makes us optimistic for the future generations who will inherit the torch of making the world a better place for all its inhabitants.

OMG's Jim Ries was kind enough to answer our questions about how their organization accomplishes its mission of youth empowerment. Don't forget to check out their Orangutan Letter Writing Campaign!

This week we are excited to highlight the European Alliance of Rescue centres and Sanctuaries (EARS). EARS is a collaboration between sanctuary and rescue centres for wildlife across Europe. As the illegal wildlife trade affects more and more animals each year, EARS provides an opportunity for the organizations caring for the individual animals rescued from the trade to connect and learn from each other's experiences. Dave Eastham, EARS' executive director, took the time to answer our questions.

This week WAN is highlighting the work of the International Companion Animal Management Coalition (ICAM), an organization supporting the development and use of humane and effective companion animal population management around the world. ICAM's current chair, Kate Atema, was kind enough to answer our questions.

In the animal protection world, there are many acronyms for very influential agencies and organizations. In this blog, we will attempt to explain some nuts and bolts of one such organization—The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

This week WAN is highlighting the work of the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO), an organization working on the ground in India to organize and empower the country’s animal protection movement through advocacy, capacity building, and networking. FIAPO’s Director of Programmes, Varda Mehrotra, was kind enough to take the time to answer our questions.
